You Don’t Have to Be High Vibe All the Time!

This statement gets thrown around a lot in the spiritual community:
“We always have a choice. It’s up to us to choose the highest vibrational path.”

And while yes — we do have the power of choice — there are times when our bodies, hearts, and nervous systems simply can’t access that “high vibe” place.

Sometimes, the most honest thing you can do is to sit on the couch in your PJs, binge some trashy TV, and eat ice cream straight from the tub because you don’t have the energy for anything else. And you know what?

I commend that choice.

Because in that moment, it might have been the best one available to you. It may not look “spiritual,” but it is human. And that’s where healing starts.

I call it a freeze funk — a state where your nervous system becomes so overloaded, so depleted, that you literally can’t take action. Even if you want to.

This often happens when you've been giving your energy away to people, places, or patterns that don't give back. When you’ve been suppressing emotions, distracting yourself, or just hoping the hard stuff would pass on its own. Spoiler: it doesn’t. Your body holds onto those feelings until it’s safe enough to let them move.

So if you find yourself deep in a funk, surrounded by Netflix, snacks, and a foggy mind — please know this:
You’re not broken. You’re not failing. You’re coping.

And sometimes, just making it through the day is choosing the highest path available.

The key is to notice when this becomes a habit — and to gently return to yourself when you’re ready. There’s a big difference between vegging out as a conscious rest… and using it to avoid what you really need to feel.

If you'd like some techniques I use to process emotions before hitting freeze mode — so you can choose rest from a place of empowerment, not exhaustion — send me a message. I’m always happy to share what’s helped me.

You’re not alone in this.
And you’re doing the best you can.

Much love,
Jen xx
